Our Story

Welcome to Junglee, I’m Akansha! 

As a first-generation Indian American, I was fortunate to be steeped in the rich traditions of Ayurveda from a young age. Like many children of immigrants, I was straddling two worlds — embracing the ancient wisdom of my heritage and trying to acclimate as an Indian American born and raised in Texas.

In the midst of this cultural balancing act, I began to drift away from the Ayurvedic practices that had been an integral part of my upbringing. It wasn't until later in life that I was being reintroduced to Ayurveda, often via Westernized channels that were far removed from its origins and stripped of authenticity. 

The roots of Junglee trace back to my maternal grandfather, a modest man with an even more modest upbringing, who, in the absence of affording electricity, pursued his Ayurvedic studies under the glow of streetlights. 

Junglee is more than just oral care — it's a labor of love, crafted from the very essence of my family's legacy. Our formulations are derived from the meticulously preserved notes of my grandfather's Ayurvedic practice, ensuring that each product upholds the authenticity and integrity of centuries-old wisdom.
